My Precious Gift to the United States

I am so pleased with the United States for their fine electoral prowess of late that, as a special reward, I’m going to zip down and play a quick string of six shows in the northeastern region. Sorry California, Arizona and Florida but maybe if you wouldn’t specifically deny certain human rights to select members of your population, you would be getting a hot rap injection from me this time around.
Actually the places I’m playing have nothing to do with my moral judgements, I just got in where I could fit in. mc chris quite generously found some spots for me to open during his current enormous tour, and I’m coming through to rock your face off in the very near future.
Let’s be more specific, okay!
18 Nov 08 – Ann Arbor, MI – The Blind Pig – 9pm, $10/$12
19 Nov 08 – Pittsburgh, PA – Club CafĂ© – 10pm, $16
20 Nov 08 – Philadelphia, PA – First Unitarian Church – 7:30pm, $12
21 Nov 08 – Baltimore, MD – The Ottobar – 9pm, $12/$15
22 Nov 08 – Northampton, MA – Pearl Street – 8:30pm, $12.50/$15
23 Nov 08 – Allston, MA – Harper’s Ferry – 8pm, $12/$14
Those prices might seem steep for Jesse D shows, but don’t forget – I’m opening for a big-time cartoon nerd rap megastar. Also, I would be worth a hundred dollars on my own because I’m AMAZING anyway.
I’m excited for the trip! I’ll be joined by my youngest sister, Rosie, and her boyfriend, Cory. By “joined” I mean “chauffeured everywhere and generally assisted in the pursuit of radness”. I will be all stocked up on merch: copies of my last two albums, Inter Alia and Verba Volant; 1″ buttons that are cute and free with any donation toward my travel costs; and newly minted t-shirts in ladies’ and dudes’ styles and in several delightful colour variations. You will just barf your pants with excitement when you see the items. And hear me – rapping! AT YOU.
I’m excited to meet all kinds of you. I promise that if you want me to sign anything, I will happily comply – I don’t care what it is! A CD of mine, a show poster or flier, a picture you printed of my face off the internet, a picture you printed of someone else you like better off the internet, a 5.25″ floppy disk that was part of the installation set for MS-DOS 5 or King’s Quest IV, a cast, your friend. Any of those things is begging for a tagging, so don’t put it too close to my Sharpie if you don’t want it smartened up!
I’m going to do my best to keep the world apprised of how fun this trip is, through whatever blogging and web 2.0 means are available to me. You surely already know about this page and the Facebook fan page and YouTube channel, but just this minute I signed up for a Twitter account so as to keep my little friends as up-to-date as possible on my movements, whereabouts, triumphs and difficulties. Go ahead and follow me or Dwigg me or whatever it is people do!
I don’t know, I’m just a rapper. But still!
